Philosophy and Background

Core Beliefs

Founded in 2008, FSC,  "Field Hockey Sports Club," also known as the FSC Falcons, is a community-based field hockey club focusing on the development of young field hockey athletes in the Bucks and Montgomery Counties of Pennsylvania.  As a USA Field Hockey member organization, our goal has always been and will continue to create a fun and encouraging atmosphere while challenging your child to be creative and to experiment with their hockey skills. Over the years, we've learned that once the basic skills are mastered, it becomes easier for children to develop a broader game sense and field vision. We measure progress and will set realistic goals for each child to reach.

Community Based

Through our USA Field Hockey affiliation, we incorporate knowledge gained through working with the US developmental NEXUS Program and stay current with new techniques and skills. Field hockey is a challenging sport and becoming even more competitive at the college and international levels.  After developing basic skills and techniques, it is very similar to other team sports, where passing, vision, decision making, and working together are important in jumping to the next level.

FSC training sessions are created to build on skills from each session, and review skills, while progressively expanding each individual's ability level. The opportunity for your child to participate in a competitive field hockey environment throughout the year will be available through FSC and our coaching staff.

It has always been a goal to give back to the community by sharing our hockey knowledge and life lessons learned along the way. Our highly qualified FSC coaching staff is looking forward to getting started and improving the next generation of field hockey athletes the Falcon way!

Outdoor Field Hockey

FSC has a continual focus on developing skills and for athletes to enhance their understanding of the game. We plan to enter more local tournaments for the younger age groups, with a newly created U14 travel team that is based on selection, entering regional tournaments where the location may involve some further travel. For the older FSC age groups, we traditionally attend various national USA Field Hockey sanctioned, full-field  11 v 11 turf events, such as the Shooting Stars Tournament over the Thanksgiving and Easter school holidays as well as the Disney "Sunshine" Tournament in February in addition to many other outdoor regional competitions.

The outdoor travel team selections will be based on ability and performance to represent the FSC club with the best group of dedicated and committed individual hockey players. Although we would like to give all members an opportunity for a travel tournament, this is not a club guarantee. Each year we will have a process, and the team will be selected on performance as well as commitment merit. The goal is to build a consistent team field structure and game understanding so our FSC athletes begin to work together and gel instinctively.

Indoor Field Hockey

Our indoor season consists of many local and regional tournaments for every age group. We pride ourselves on attending the National Indoor Tournament in Virginia  or Lancaster during February and  March for all age groups. The U19 and U16 teams prepare diligently to qualify for this National event!
